Health Science Librarian

Description & Details:  NDSU Libraries is looking for an engaged and student-focused Health Sciences Librarian to join our team! As a member of the NDSU Libraries Research and Engagement team, the Health Sciences Librarian will provide leadership and support for the College of Health and Human Sciences and other departments as assigned. They will also provide research assistance and information literacy instruction in-person, online, and via asynchronous learning objects, and serve as a liaison to assigned areas

Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday with occasional evenings

Hiring Range:  $60,000 - $66,000 plus per year depending on experience and qualifications 

Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.  

Minimum Qualifications:  

• Accredited ALA or international equivalent MLS, MLIS, MSIS or MS; ALA-accredited Masters in Library Science.

• 2+ years experience in an academic or health sciences library or research setting 

• Experience providing instruction in person and/or online.

Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and patron experience skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to work collaboratively with academic colleges, departments, faculty, staff, and students to engage, support, teach, and motivate students. 

• Demonstrated commitment to fostering a library environment that is welcoming and inclusive for all. 

• Experience working with under-represented populations. 

• Experience creating and implementing programs and/or services and developing a collection.

• Knowledge of and experience with the systematic review process and/or other evidence synthesis methods.

• Demonstrated experience using research tools for instruction and/or research consultations. 

• Flexibility, resilience, and ability to adapt to a changing environment. 

• Knowledge of current trends and challenges facing research libraries, researchers, and higher education.
