Description & Details:  NDSU Libraries is looking for a Student Success and Instruction Librarian to join our team! As a member of the Research and Engagement team at the NDSU Libraries, the Student Success and Instruction Librarian will develop and promote student-focused initiatives, collaborate with campus and college partners to support student success and engagement, and provide and promote information literacy instruction, both in-person and asynchronously. The Student Success and Instruction Librarian also provides general and specialized research services, and liaises with assigned departments. The successful candidate will be student-centered, passionate about education, libraries, and the land-grant mission, and will work collaboratively in a team-based environment.

Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday with occasional evenings

Hiring Range:  $60,000 - $66,000 plus, depending on experience and qualifications 

Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an ALA-accredited library school or international equivalent.
  • Experience providing library instruction in person or online.
  • Experience working in an academic library or research setting. 
  • Experience using and/or creating digital learning objects. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing and delivering library instruction in an academic library environment, both in-person and online.
  • Experience in creating and implementing programs and services to undergraduate populations. 
  • Demonstrated experience using research tools for instruction and/or research consultations. 
  • Education and/or interest in a science field.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a broad spectrum of people and foster a welcoming library environment. 
  • Flexibility, resilience, and ability to adapt to rapidly changing environment. 
  • Knowledge of current trends and challenges facing research libraries, researchers, and higher education.
